Why we source this way.

Maison Najem began with a single sourcing trip into the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco. What we found were not products. They were objects that had lived in homes, been made for occasions, and carried the mark of the hands that created them. That is still what we look for, whether in a Berber village above the cloud line or a family home in West Africa or a workshop in Southeast Asia. We sell what we would keep ourselves.

Maison Najem exists for the person who walks into a room and notices what is on the floor before they notice the furniture. Who understands that an object made by a single pair of hands over many weeks carries something that a machine-made copy will never have, no matter how closely it resembles the original.

Our customers believe that artists and makers should be paid properly for their work. They buy a piece knowing the price reflects real skill, real time, and a real human being at the other end of it. They want the thing that cannot be reordered. The piece that has already lived a life before it came to them.

Why we do not discount.

A discount on a one-of-a-kind object is an admission that it was overpriced to begin with. Every piece is listed at what it is genuinely worth. To reduce that figure would not be a gesture of goodwill. It would be a small dishonesty about the value of the thing itself.
